A very present risk
There is a lockdown in Quebec for around ten days. Result: bright sunshine, mild temperatures, but also… drought. That’s good news in itself, but the continued lack of precipitation can cause a familiar problem in Quebec: wildfires.
Southern Quebec affected
Even if Sunday is not affected by these risks, the start of next week is under observation. There is a high risk of fire, particularly in southern Quebec. Estrie, Montérégie, Lanaudière and the Laurentians must remain vigilant. The fire danger is expected to increase over the next week as no rainfall is forecast.
However, lightning, which is one of the main triggers of forest fires, is unlikely to occur.
