[À VOIR] A very touching gesture from the Alouettes

The Alouettes made a noble gesture to their dear Heather Lowengren, the Good Samaritan who has regularly delivered cooked treats to players in training for over 15 years.

In mourning for her husband, once water carrier for the Alouettes, Ms. Lowengren notably received a helmet signed by the players of the 2023 edition, but this is also the message from head coach Jason Maas that touched her to the core of her heart.

“On behalf of all of us here, we would like to say that we are grateful that we have been able to count on your support for so long,” said Maas. You are important to us, we know that you are in a difficult situation and we are here for you. We wanted to share it with you. We care about you, we love you and we are here for you.”

The Journal previously reported on Heather Lowengren, who notably brought watermelons and Mr. Freeze to combat the heat wave in September.

After the Alouettes’ latest gesture, the lady apparently thanked her “little boys” before humorously telling them: “You have to win, I didn’t cook all this for nothing. Give it everything you’ve got!”

The Alouettes host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the Eastern Division semifinals this Saturday in Montreal.
