A Whodunit Season 2: A Stunning New Investigation Full of Mysteries – Showbizz.net

Secrets, lies and professional misconduct come together in the new season of the anthology series A Criminal Affair, which hits our screens with a gripping intrigue that will pique your curiosity from the first seconds. With its constellation of impressive actors, starting with the protagonists Alice Moreault and Julie Le Breton, the fear-inducing production by Pascal L’heureux and some highly topical topics, this second season of Criminal Affair is proving to be indispensable this fall.

The action begins quickly as viewers witness a shootout within a few seconds that will have repercussions in all areas of the story. In this context, the lives of two investigators from Montreal change – Laurence (Alice Moreault) and Geneviève (Julie Le Breton).

In fact, Laurence shot a witness who had just made an important revelation to him about the disappearance of his father, a former investigator who had disappeared from the crime scene seven years earlier. The independent investigation agency was quickly called in to find out whether the young policewoman had committed murder or whether she had acted in self-defense. Is Laurence hiding more than she says?

Then begins this great, high-flying mystery, devised by the impressive Joanne Arseneau (Faits Divers), always so gifted when it comes to suspense. The author plunges all of her characters into a whirlpool of questions from which no one emerges unscathed. The sisterhood is emphasized, that which secures and protects.

The screenwriter also ventures into the sensitive topic of domestic violence. It is Julie Le Breton and Pierre-Yves Cardinal who inherit this difficult, perfectly played score. They avoid caricatures thanks to the help of director Pascal L’heureux, who decided not to rush the audience with overly serious scenes. However, the result is just as effective, making you look away from the screen here and there.

As with One Way: Survive, fans want to unravel the mystery, which is based on trips back and forth into the past and is presented in order or out of order. It’s pretty clever and fascinating. At the center of the mystery is actress Alice Moreault, whom we have rarely seen in a leading role. She plays a wonderful role, offering a mysterious character with shaky mental health. Normand Daneau, Pierre-François Legendre, Luis Oliva, Mounia Zahzam, Hélène Major, Julie Ménard, Évelyne Rompré, Pierre-Paul Alain, Jean-Luc Terriault, Reda Guerinik, Hubert Proulx, Dany Boudreault, Kathleen Fortin and Neev Bensimhon round out the whole thing good in the manner of the All-Star distribution.

This new offering, part of Noovo’s mission to offer more quality entertainment, hits the mark. The eight episodes will certainly and rightly attract the attention of a wide audience. Here’s another series to put on your calendar.

Starting September 12th, a criminal case will be presented on Noovo every Tuesday at 8 p.m.
