The gist In Florida, an argument between siblings over the number of Christmas presents turned into a drama on Christmas Eve. During the fight, one of the two boys killed his sister with a gun and seriously injured his brother.
In the United States, the spread is a scourge, regrets the sheriff of Pinellas County, Florida, Bob Gualtieri. He had to intervene on Dec. 24 over a dark story about sibling rivalry, the New York Post reports.
On Facebook, the newspaper paid tribute to Abrielle, who died after a family argument over the number of Christmas presents: “This is Abrielle Baldwin. The mother of two was killed on Christmas Eve in Largo after her teenage brothers argued over Christmas presents and pulled out their guns. Please think of her two children and the rest of her family as they grieve the loss of their loved one over the holidays.”
The drama happened after two brothers, Damarcus and Darcus, aged 14 and 15 went shopping for presents with her sister Abrielle, 23, accompanied by her mother. The two youngest were arguing about who would get the most presents the next day. When they arrive at their grandmother's house in Largo, the argument escalates because the youngest is upset about getting fewer gifts than his older brother.
Armed Brothers
It could have ended there, but suddenly the 14-year-old pulled out a gun and threatened his older brother before family members tried to separate them. Damarcus then turns to his sister before shooting her.
The young woman carrying her baby collapsed and was fatally shot in the chest. The infant escaped unharmed. But Darcus also pulls out his gun, intervenes and shoots his brother in the stomach. Sheriff Bob Gualtieri arrested the two minors. The youngest brother was hospitalized but his life is not in danger. Damarcus is taken into custody after being released from the hospital. The justice system must decide whether or not the teenager should be tried as an adult for the murder of his sister.
