His career has always been linked to stand-up comedy, starting with a Chilean TV show called El Club de la Comedia where he performed his first routines. He then began to internationalize his career, touring throughout Latin America and recording specials for Comedy Central.

What stood out was that at the end of his presentation, the show’s host James Corden approached the Chilean comedian and He said a few words in her ear. Copano himself recounted what he was told in an interview with the Chilean newspaper La Tercera. “He told me that (the show) was very good, he loved the Avengers joke, which was great, and he told me I hope you can come before the end of the season,” he revealed.
On that note, he added: “I don’t know if he’s saying it out of courtesy to everyone or if it was something special, but that’s what he told me. Now I’ve put my head into putting together the routine for Viña. That’s coming. I’m going to Chile tonight,” he said.
The routine was taped on the same day, Thursday 19th afternoon, before it aired on CBS during prime time. To do this, Copano flew from New York to Los Angeles, California, to the studios where the show is being taped for the CBS signal.
“Corden stopped by to greet the dressing room. We chatted for a while, I told him about all the expectations that existed in Chile, about the carpool karaoke that everyone sees and copies. Then about coming from another country too and going to the US to do comedy, in his case he’s British,” Copano added.
For the comedian, participating in Late is a pivotal moment in his career. “It is one step of several that remain. I am also very happy that the people in Chile are aware of what I have been doing during all this time.”
Now Copano is preparing for his next challenge, which is to perform at the Viña de Mar International Song Festival at the end of February, where he was in 2017, and a tour of his country.
