Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of this fatal shooting, but no suspect has been arrested so far, sources said.

“It is so surprising that it is a very quiet area and we have never had an incident like this,” points out Katrina Wishinski, who has lived in this area of Saint-Lambert for more than seven years.

The resident, who lives less than 50 meters from the parking lot where the young man was shot, was at home when the shots rang out but said she heard nothing.

“I have not heard anything. It wasn't until I saw all the cars arriving that I knew something had happened,” Ms Wishinski said, adding: “My partner was driving 10 minutes away. Right before it happened.”

A security fence was erected at the crime scene and witnesses were expected to be received by investigators. Anyone with information is urged to report it to police.
