A$AP Rocky pleads innocent over alleged shooting in 2021
US rapper A$AP Rocky has pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault with firearms related to an alleged shooting incident in Hollywood in 2021.
On Wednesday, rapper Praise the Lord – who had a baby with his girlfriend Rihanna earlier this year – appeared in person at a Los Angeles courthouse to attend the pleadings.
Rocky – real name Rakim Mayers – is accused of pointing a semi-automatic weapon and firing it twice at former boyfriend Terell Ephron during an argument in Hollywood in November 2021.
The rapper was charged earlier this week after Ephron claimed he was shot by the rapper last November. According to media reports, the rapper could face up to nine years in prison if convicted.
On August 17, Los Angeles Superior Court Victoria B. Wilson barred the singer from possessing a firearm or ammunition and barred her from contacting Ephron or coming within 100 yards of him.
The court also set a tentative hearing date for November 2, after ruling that the rapper should clear appointments with prosecutors.
Rocky is currently scheduled to headline Rolling Loud New York at Citi Field in Queens on September 24th.
