“I am saddened by what happened and that he passed away. I wish he could have just sold his house and moved away, but we don’t have to worry about it now,” a neighbor said.
The day he moved, it was a dire situation for the neighborhood, the angry neighbor said.
Records show the singer purchased the 7 bedroom, 4 bathroom home in Lancaster, California, 70 miles northeast of Los Angeles, in November 2020 for $620,000. His house is currently for sale for $799,900.
“Aaron has had issues with several neighbors on his street, at least three of whom have called the police about him,” said the neighbor, who declined to be named for fear of retaliation from his fans.
“Aaron was just arrogant, he thought he was better than everyone else in the neighborhood. He boasted that he had better vehicles and his house was bigger than most in the area.

Neighbors said Carter and his girlfriend Melanie Martin often got into arguments and that he once locked her out of the house
There was always a lot of noise coming from the house. Aaron and his girlfriend Melanie could be heard arguing throughout the day. “We saw the police outside his house every few months.”
On several occasions, Aaron locked Melanie outside his home after a screeching match, and she banged on the door and yelled, “Let me in.”
When Aaron wasn’t arguing with Melanie, he was tormenting his neighbors by turning up his music and opening his windows. “You could hear the music several houses down.”
One day a neighbor knocked politely on his door and Melanie opened it. She was asked if they could turn the music down. Melanie said she would pass the information on to Aaron. Minutes later, Aaron banged on the neighbor’s door and started yelling at the neighbor, calling her ‘c**t and b***ch. Another person in the house asked Aaron to leave their property. The police were called and Aaron tried to tell the police that the neighbor had assaulted him. No arrests were made.
Just a week before his death, Carter tweeted that he was selling his house and starting a “new chapter.”

“Every neighbor has that ‘neighbor’ to deal with, he was that ‘neighbor’.”
“I feel bad that he left his little kid behind. He obviously had his problems and demons. It’s a shame he died, I wouldn’t wish for that, but I’m glad he’s no longer in our neighborhood.”

“I’m selling my second home,” Carter wrote on Oct. 29. “Real estate has been super good for me. Ready for a new chapter in my third home that I want to stay in to give my family a good life.’
“This year has been super tough but I’ve learned so much,” he added. ‘Thanks for the support everyone.’

Carter was found dead in the home’s bathtub on Saturday after being discovered by his house sitter.
She reportedly ran out of the house and said, “He’s dead! He is dead!’
Witnesses described a “chaotic” scene at the singer’s home, with police cars, message vans and people crowding the streets to see what had happened.
Police said Carter drowned but did not elaborate on how the tragedy happened.

Carter, who toured in 1997 as the opening act for the Backstreet Boys, rose to fame in the ’90s when he released four studio albums, beginning with his self-titled debut album in 1997 when he was just nine years old.
A close friend of Carter’s told The US Sun he doesn’t think he committed suicide, saying he had studio sessions with artists planned for an album the following week.
Carter had also told the friend that he was “excited” to be presenting new music and working with artists who had traveled to Los Angeles specifically for a duet.
“Any suggestion that he committed suicide last night while in contact with his friends and team is false,” the friend said. “It was absolutely devastating to hear the news this morning.”

As of January 2020, Carter was in a relationship with former fiancé Martin, who gave birth to Prince in November 2021. He confirmed in an exclusive interview with in August that the two were no longer in a relationship and had ended their romance forever.
However, Martin was visibly upset outside Carter’s house on Saturday and released a statement calling him her “fiancé”.
“My fiancé Aaron Carter passed away. I love Aaron with all my heart and it will be a journey raising a son without a father. Please respect my family’s privacy as we come to terms with the loss of someone we love dearly. We are still in the process of accepting this unfortunate reality. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.’
Earlier this year, Carter filed for custody of their son and a petition for protection against Martin at the Antelope Valley Courthouse in Los Angeles County.
In a court filing, he accused his ex of “emotional distress, anxiety, shoving and scratching” and claimed she used the threat of suicide to “emotionally” abuse him.
