Aaron Carter’s latest texts with the manager reveal he was “optimistic” about his forthcoming album

Aaron Carter’s recent texts with his manager indicated that he was optimistic about the future and the release of his new music.

Taylor Helgeson, Carter’s manager, was one of the last people the singer texted before he was found dead in the bathtub at his Lancaster, California home on November 5.

Helgeson recalled his last conversation with the I Want Candy singer the night before he died – and his excitement about the release of his new album, which he planned to record in Los Angeles this month.

“He was so excited, he was extremely optimistic,” Helgeson told The US Sun. “It’s been a few years since we released ‘Love’ and he felt ready to do another one… it was the first time I’ve seen him so excited in a while. He had more [to give]and he didn’t stop.’

In one of Carter’s last messages to Helgeson, dated November 4, he had texted his manager to check himself in.

Helgeson said he asked the singer how he was doing. To which he replied: “I’m just going back to the house. I was in LA but all good. Things are looking up.’

Carter later looked at the songs for his new album and added: “Holy s****! The new album, what the hell? That’s definitely a Grammy!’

The manager replied, “Yes, and you deserve it.”

‘Gigantic! Our best work yet,” Carter last said at 6.32pm, Helgeson told The Sun.

Carter later called Helgeson – but he couldn’t answer because he was on a plane. The singer then called another friend and invited him over to his home in Lancaster to begin recording vocals for the album.

“From what I heard, that was around 9:30 p.m.,” Helgeson said. “But he never made it to the house.”

The singer was due to record his new album with Danish producers this month.

Helgeson said Carter felt he could handle any problem in his life.

“This album should be all that’s his,” said Helgeson. “He wanted to take responsibility and he felt that this would be the best way to do it.”

According to Helgeson, before his death, Carter began behaving atypically, including missing important meetings.

“He wouldn’t miss a show for anything if he could help it,” Helgeson told the news outlet. “He’s missed a few things over the past few weeks and it was so out of character for him and I was upset.”

Back then, Helgeson was presenting Carter with an intensive, customized rehab program when he started falling off the wagon. He even confronted Carter when the star was live-streaming on Instagram and was seen “puffing.”

Carter previously admitted to having a wheezing addiction but told Helgeson it wasn’t real.

In a previous interview with , his PR assistant Holly Davidson revealed the pop star wanted to resolve the custody battle over his children before going to rehab.

“I want to get better and I’m trying to get better, but I can’t right now,” he told ITC PR’s Davidson.

“He has his priorities set on dealing with the courts about his son, new music and life,” the aide told . “Then he wanted to go to rehab.”

Carter had been in a long-running custody battle with Melanie Martin, the mother of his 11-month-old son Prince.

The rehab plan was worked out with addiction counselor Brenden Borrowman, co-founder of Utah’s ReBoot drug treatment center. According to its website, ReBoot uses “proven military behavioral science” to develop self-esteem and positive behavior.

Borrowman said that Aaron was “rescuable.”

“I really think so,” he previously told .
