Yankees superstar Aaron Judge supports wife Samantha Bracksieck in the NYC marathon on the day he officially becomes a free agent

Aaron Judge cheered on his wife at the New York Marathon on the day he was officially split from a team.

The baseball superstar had a stellar season with the New York Yankees but has now gone free in the offseason.

MLB free agency began today with Judge seen supporting wife Samantha Bracksieck as she ran the 26.2-mile route in New York. The couple hugged after she crossed the finish line.

The couple met in their hometown of Linden and married in December in an incredibly intimate ceremony in Hawaii attended by only a small group of close personal friends and family.

Judge, who identifies as Christian on his social media accounts, married his longtime girlfriend Bracksieck last December – but very little is known about their romance.

However, it remains uncertain whether Judge will stay with the Yankees, who were swept by World Series winners, the Houston Astros, in the postseason.

General manager Brian Cashman and manager Aaron Boone have both expressed a desire to bring the racquet back, although he could reportedly land a $300million contract.

With the hefty price tag, there’s no guarantee Judge will be back in New York next season, and the Los Angeles Dodgers or San Francisco Giants could reportedly be the team to snatch away the star.

Cashman didn’t reveal much about where the Yankees and Judge stand on the contract front, but insisted he hopes to see the six-foot-tall slugger back in pinstripes.

“We would like to keep him and we would like to have him back,” Cashman said. “Obviously he bet on himself ahead of the season and it paid off.

“He had an amazing run and continued to build out the back of his baseball card and he’s got a lot more game in him. We hope the game stays in the pinstripes, that’s all I can say.

Cashman also acknowledged that Judge’s talent would not only help the Yankees out on the field but also in the stands as it was also an economic factor for the team.

“He’s a fan favorite. He interacts very well with our fans,” Cashman added. “He is respected in this clubhouse and does his business as best as he can and is an elite performer and one of the best, if not the best, players in the game. These are the types you’ll want to keep and have for as long as possible, and they’re a lot of different categories.

“You want a team that can compete with a championship and ultimately win a championship – a player like him would help you move forward.

‘He’ll drive, as George Steinbrenner would say, Fannys in the seats. People want to watch the guy play.

“You want to put great teams on the field who want to come here to see them fighting for victories, but certain individual players outperform the team and it all stops when they’re on the racquet or have the ball in their hands, and He is one of those talents.’

The judge was recognized by his peers on Friday when he was named the 2022 Players Choice Player of the Year as well as AL Outstanding Player of the Year.

Judge set an all-time AL record with 62 home runs for New York that season, beating Roger Maris’ previous record of 61, which he set 61 years earlier.

“I want to thank all of my teammates and opposing players who voted for me,” Richter said in a video tweeted by the MLB Players’ Association.

“I think there is no greater honor or sense of accomplishment than hearing it from your peers.”
