Just last year, Aaron Judge put his 62 home runs in Major League Baseball’s record books. If Shohei Ohtani erased that mark, the New York Yankees player wouldn’t be mad.

In 2022, Judge had the best season of his career, setting the American longball record. The mark to beat of 61 had belonged to Roger Maris since 1961.
Ohtani, a brilliant hitter and pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels, has thrown 35 balls wide in 95 games this season. It’s a similar pace to what Judge saw last year.
“Records are made to be broken,” Number 99 told the New York Post on Wednesday. It would be exciting for baseball if it could reach 63 or more. I still have great years ahead of me. So if he makes it, I’ll have another chance to achieve something special.”
In 2023, Judge won’t be struggling with himself even though he started the season well with 19 homers in 49 games. He has not played since June 3 due to a toe injury.
