Aaron Rodgers is taking aim at the “s***bags” who have tarnished his reputation as the quarterback prepares to make his long-awaited debut for the New York Jets.
The 39-year-old is enjoying a “new chapter” after nearly two decades with the Green Bay Packers. The Jets begin their 2023 season on Monday night against the Buffalo Bills.
Rodgers has long been a polarizing figure, earning a reputation for being “selfish,” among other things.
During this preseason, however, Rodgers has improved his public image, thanks in part to the Hard Knocks cameras that have followed the Jets in recent months.
The quarterback is grateful that the show gave fans a glimpse into who he “always was” compared to the image that has developed over the years.

“Some idiots have painted a certain picture of me that’s probably not based on the truth,” Rodgers told Fox Sports.
“I’ve been building a reputation for a while… a lot of people tried to outwit me.” It didn’t work, you couldn’t keep me down. And I’m grateful that people get to see me.
“I’m not brand new, I didn’t act for a TV show, I just stayed the way I always am. “It was the first time in 19 years that someone had captured it that way.”
He added: “This is a new chapter, I have a whole new plan to show these people who I am – my leadership style, my energy, my self.” I’ve never had the chance to be on Hard Knocks before to be.’
But Rodgers was initially skeptical about appearing on the show. “I certainly was. “I just found it super distracting and difficult for guys to be authentic,” he said.
“But I found the experience really enjoyable and not intrusive.”

All eyes will be on the quarterback when the Bills visit Metlife Stadium on Monday night. The four-time MVP believes the Jets are one of about a dozen teams that have a real chance of reaching the Super Bowl, and he admitted there will be “a lot of butterflies” when the game starts.
“It makes you feel like you’re alive,” he said.
“It was just a new chapter, the (Packers) chapter closed. “It was beautiful… there’s obviously more eyes on us, a lot of people jumped on the bandwagon – which I love.
“A lot of people are ready to take a few shots.” It’s exciting. “We love all support, we welcome all skepticism, it’s a truly exciting time to be a New York Jets and Jets fan.”
