During the “Pat McAfee Show” podcast, the Green Bay Packers athlete admitted he had to decide if he still had the sacred fire for the footballer’s profession before he could decide if he wanted to continue his adventure in Wisconsin .

“So I believe it will be important to go through this week and isolate myself to assess the factors related to my future,” said the 39-year-old.

To that end, Rodgers will lock himself away for four full days so he can experience hallucinations and “do some soul searching to get closer to a final decision.”

This strategy is reminiscent of that of mixed martial arts fighter Jiri Prochazka. Last October, the former UFC light heavyweight champion revealed he spent three days in a room with no lights or food to “face his demons” early in his fight against Glover Teixera.

Rodfers, still under contract with the Packers, would play in 2023 in his 19th season in the NFL and a 16th as a starting point.

He also debunked the theory that he would put off hanging up his cleats to avoid being inducted into the Hall of Fame at the same time as another Goodell Circuit legend.

“To think I wouldn’t want to share the stage with Tom Brady and JJ Watt is ridiculous,” he said.
