Abbie Chatfield has slammed a Gold Coast businessman over his “misogynistic” call for a ban on G-string bikinis on the beach.
The 28-year-old media personality, who is known for regularly donning her own sexy swimsuits, branded outspoken local Ian Grace “a little perverted freak” after he claimed he felt on Monday night's The Project feeling “uncomfortable” when he looked at scantily clad women.
Abbie spoke out on the issue in a video she posted to Instagram on Tuesday, saying Ian was pushing the narrative that women are “responsible” for men's “feelings” and that they should be “ashamed of their bodies.”
“This absolute loser, who obviously has some sort of power complex, has decided to go on national television and expose himself as a misogynist,” she said as she shared screenshots of Ian’s quotes.
“A little strange how often he mentions that he was 'forced' to look at women's asses and breasts,” she added, calling him a “pervert” for the confession.

The FBoy Island host went on to say that Ian's outdated beliefs teach teenagers to view women's bodies as “inherently sexual” objects that are “excluded from their perspective.”
“It also means that you are not responsible for your own feelings, but that the women you look at are your responsibility.” “We just teach kids to blame victims,” the star of “The Masked Singer” added.
“He teaches young women that their bodies are policed by men, that their bodies are inherently sexual, and that their bodies are enticing to men.”

Ian first made the controversial call in a letter to Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate and stepped up his comments after they sparked backlash across the country.
The older man also had a problem with tight gym clothes being worn in public, claiming on The Project that he didn't take women seriously if they wore low-cut blouses to the office.
The Gold Coast mayor said he would not consider the ban.
“Ian is a brave man who is involved in women’s fashion,” Mr Tate told the Courier Mail.
“One thing I've learned about fashion over the years is that if you try to ban or restrict something, that's a bit of a recipe for it becoming twice as popular.”
