A source close to discussions with the former White House aide said: “My jaw dropped when I was told she was the choice. That makes no sense.

“Part of me wishes they had just leaned in to MAGA and hired Kimberly Guilfoyle, at least it would reflect some of the audience better and there would be fireworks every day.”

Another insider told : “Your future co-hosts are very upset. They find her inauthentic and change their minds depending on who their purser is.

“Ana Navarro feels particularly disappointed as they are hiring someone who has been an integral part of the movement that has destabilized this country.

“Alyssa’s family is also problematic. Her father Joseph founded WorldNetDaily, a website that spreads conspiracy theories. It’s scary.”

A third source added: “Your appointment will also cost us bookings. Wanda Sykes pulled out because she didn’t want to be on the show with her.

Comedian Sykes’ departure from the show was first reported in The Daily Beast’s Confider media newsletter.

Los Angeles-born Farah Griffin is a political adviser, serving as White House director of strategic communications and assistant to the President in the Trump administration as of 2020.

The Conservative resigned in December 2020, a month before leaving office.

She tweeted at the time, “It has been the honor of my life to serve in the Trump administration for the past three and a half years, first as press secretary for @VP Pence, then as press secretary for @DeptofDefense and more recently as White House communications director.”

A month after she resigned, Trump held his infamous White House rally on January 6, 2020 — the day Congress was about to confirm Joe Biden’s nomination and a crowd of his supporters stormed the US Capitol, to stop them.

Farah Griffin was quick to condemn the attack after publicly condemning Trump supporters for harassing Mitt Romney the day before.

On Jan. 8, 2021, she accused Trump of instigating the riot and suggested that he should resign as the House of Representatives impeached the outgoing president for the second time in his tenure.

She was also Vice President Mike Pence’s press secretary from 2017 to 2019 – before being named the Pentagon’s youngest press secretary in history.

In 2021, the 33-year-old married her longtime partner Justin Griffin – and she revealed this year that members of her family, including her own father, boycotted their wedding because of their political differences.

Her conservative father did not attend her wedding after she spoke out against ex-President Donald Trump.

In October, weeks before her wedding, she slammed Trump for lying about the election being stolen during an appearance on The View and said she would not support him again.

She recalled: “The election had been called. It had been a few weeks, and I was starting to see the rhetoric about the election being stolen flare up when I saw some of my colleagues go on TV and say that.

“Basically, I knew that wasn’t true and could have dangerous consequences.”

She added: “I thought my primary duty was to the country to tell the truth.”

Farah Griffin said she was devastated by the riot as she recalled how Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt was fatally shot while breaching the US Capitol.

“It breaks my heart that an Air Force veteran was so distorted by lies sold to her by the US President that she lost her life,” she said.

Farah Griffin insisted she ‘wouldn’t endorse Donald Trump again’

“Our country needs to go in a different direction,” she added. “There are some good things about politics… but we have to move on from that era.”

CNN’s political commentator told The View earlier this year: “I got married recently in November and it’s such a difficult subject so think of two things: COVID has made people shrink their friend groups, their family groups . People aren’t together unless they’re ready to get vaccinated. Added to this is the political polarization.

“In my personal situation, I had to deal with two people very close to me, my father and stepmother, who didn’t want to attend my wedding.”

This comes after fans of the hit American talk show called for Whoopi Goldberg to be fired for “cramping” live on air this week.
