Abigail Breslin says she has received multiple death threats over a dissident song she wrote about her ex-boyfriend and 5 Seconds of Summer guitarist Michael Clifford.
The 27-year-old Little Miss Sunshine actress released her debut single titled “You Suck” in 2014, with lyrics aimed at the Australian musician.
Breslin claims she deleted hateful messages online after the track was published and people even showed up outside her house.
“It was the most traumatic experience… because I wrote the song about him, basically because you're 17, 16, 17… and I definitely had a much bigger idea of what that relationship was than maybe,” he thought ” she told Christy Romano on the video podcast series “Vulnerable.”
“I felt kind of 'burnt' by him and wrote a very bad song about him called 'You Suck'.”

Breslin added: “I didn't realize that people would put two and two together so often, though; I didn't know he was going to become a huge boy band the week before it was released.
“I was sent death threats. People showed up in front of my apartment. All this crazy, crazy shit. I experienced this onslaught of these girls literally hating me.'

She begins the track by singing, “I hate your dumb tattoo, I wish you'd fly to the moon,” referring to a tattoo Clifford has on his arm.
Then she continues singing: “I hate the scar over your eye, it looks like you're on drugs.”
In 2013, the guitarist shared a photo on Twitter of a pretty ugly looking cut above his eye and wrote: “It's been ages but I want to show y'all how much it hurt lol I think it is one.” permanent scar.”
The lyrics then begin with a scathing attack on the pop-rock singer, with the lines “You really need to learn to wash your hair” and “You're just an idiot who bleaches your hair.”

Michael is known for his signature shaggy locks, which he frequently bleaches and dyes, having previously sported green, pink and red locks.
“Thanks for the tickets to your show,” Abigail sings, adding, “I just wanted to tell you that all your bandmates are hotter than you.”
The lyrics prompted fiercely protective 5 Seconds of Summer fans to defend Michael, and hundreds of admirers took to Twitter to attack Abigail. One user wrote: “Abigail Breslin is just a cheap, useless version of Taylor Swift.”

Clifford later responded to the track, tweeting, “I didn't find your joke song funny.”
Breslin and Clifford were first spotted together in August 2013 after the Teen Choice Awards.
They were seen leaving Craig's Restaurant in West Hollywood after the ceremony.
The couple have since moved on and are now happily married to other partners. Clifford is married to Crystal Leigh, while Breslin tied the knot with businessman Ira Kunyansky last year.
Breslin is known for her roles in hit films such as Little Miss Sunshine, Signs, Zombieland and Ender's Game.
