About 9,000 Palestinian women murdered in Gaza, estimates the UN Periódico Invasor

Israeli troops have murdered around 9,000 women in the Gaza Strip since their offensive began on October 7, the UN denounced this Saturday.

It is likely that this number is lower than the actual figure as many of them reportedly died under the rubble, UN Women warned in a statement.

Although this war forgives no one, the data confirms that it kills and injures women in unprecedented ways, he emphasized.

The United Nations agency said that at the current rate, an average of 63 people are murdered every day.

An estimated 37 mothers die every day, their families are devastated and their children have limited protection, he said.

The institution highlighted that four out of five women, 84 percent, report that their family eats half or less of the food compared to before the conflict.

Almost nine in 10 women, 87 percent, said they had more difficulty accessing food than men, he revealed.

Many of them, he lamented, are resorting to extreme mechanisms to cope, such as searching for food in rubble or dumpsters.

If there is no immediate humanitarian ceasefire, many people will die in the coming days and weeks, he warned.

In this situation, UN Women called for “an end to the killings, bombings and destruction of essential infrastructure in Gaza.”
