The woman was initially transported to a hospital, where her condition was considered critical. His death was confirmed later that evening. The driver of the vehicle, a 55-year-old man, was treated at the scene for “nervous shock” and will be interviewed later by investigators.
Jarry Street was closed to traffic between 17th Avenue and Saint-Michel Boulevard so that accident investigators could examine the scene and understand the “circumstances leading up to the collision.” Police officers were on site in the evening to redirect traffic.
There is a traffic light and pedestrian crossings at this intersection.
