One or more people are in critical condition after being involved in a crash involving two heavy trucks and two cars on Highway 40 East in Trois-Rivières on Friday afternoon.
According to the spokeswoman for the Sûreté du Québec, Éloïse Cossette, the emergency services had to advance to the height of the Pointe-du-Lac sector at around 12:30 p.m., where two trucks collided with two vehicles.

The Trois-Rivières fire brigade had to be on site to help free the people trapped in one of the vehicles.
“One or more people are currently in critical condition,” the spokeswoman said.
The A40 will be closed in an easterly direction so that the rescue workers can help those involved and the rescue workers can clear the roadway.
