A vehicle has been identified as possibly involved in the accident that killed a police officer who was riding a motorcycle on the Gabarre Bridge on Monday. An appeal for witnesses was launched by the Baie-Mahault Gendarmerie Brigade to identify the driver in particular.
The Guadeloupe gendarmerie has launched an appeal for witnesses following the accident that killed a motorcyclist, who turned out to be a police officer from the Morne Vergain Territorial Criminal Investigation Department.
Recall that only the victim’s motorcycle was found at the scene of the accident that occurred just after 8:45am yesterday (Monday, March 20, 2023) on National Route 1 at the Gabarre Bridge. The 40-year-old, who was already in cardiac arrest when help arrived, is the ninth person to have died on the archipelago’s roads since the beginning of the year.

The accident happened towards Baie-Mahault/Pointe-à-Pitre.
On the affected axle, the gendarmes identified “a white Ford Puma, with possible advertising imprinted on the sides”, which could be involved in the crime.
As such, the police are asking anyone with information about this vehicle or who witnessed the incident to contact the Baie-Mahault Territorial Brigade at 05.90.41.14.20.
