The driver of a delivery truck had a big scare Wednesday morning when he crashed into a utility pole and high-voltage wires fell on his vehicle.
The incident occurred around 8:15 a.m. near 2000 Wilfrid-Hamel Boulevard. A bad maneuver would have been the cause of the event that would have caused more fear than damage.

“Hydro-Québec had to act quickly because the pole was no longer holding much. It was a delicate and complex operation,” explains the spokesman for the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ).
Cables previously attached to the pole ended up on the driver’s vehicle, forcing him to stay inside while waiting for help. Luckily he wasn’t injured.

In the morning there were traffic jams on Boulevard Wilfrid-Hamel, which was closed in both directions between Boulevard Central and Rue du Grand-Tronc.
By late morning everything was back to normal.
