Iranian President Ebrahim Raïssi’s planned visit to Turkey on Tuesday will not take place, the Turkish presidency told AFP, without making a statement or indicating whether the trip would be postponed.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the date of his Iranian counterpart’s visit in mid-November, saying that this meeting was aimed at discussing a common position on the war in Gaza.
“President Ebrahim Raïssi is coming to Turkey on November 28th,” the Turkish leader told reporters on board his return flight from a regional summit in Riyadh on November 11th.
The visit was also announced by the Turkish state agency Anadolu and mentioned by Turkish media on Monday.
