According to Quebec voters, Trudeau has had his day

A Leger poll released on Thursday showed unflattering results for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as nearly half of voters believe he should step down at the end of his term.

According to the poll, 49% of Quebecers and 55% of Canadians want Justin Trudeau to run in the next election.

Here are some reactions from voters collected by Marie-Lise Mornima, journalist at TVA Nouvelles, at Papineau, the Prime Minister’s equestrian center.

“I don’t think he listens to the majority of Francophones, at least in Quebec.”

“He has been at the head of the government for several terms, I can imagine that there is an attrition effect.”

“Maybe he’s done with his day.”

“I think it’s really realistic that he doesn’t run anymore. He didn’t do well in his duty as Prime Minister of Canada, really.”

The voters in his riding point to important issues such as inflation, the housing crisis and immigration issues.

The survey also shows results for his opponent Pierre Poilièvre that are hardly more encouraging.
