According to the Russian Defense Ministry, two Ukrainian drones tried to attack buildings in Moscow early Monday (24). The attacks were blocked and did not cause any serious damage or casualties, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.
Ukraine has not yet responded to the allegations.
“On the morning of July 24, an attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack using two unmanned aerial vehicles on objects in the city of Moscow was foiled. Two Ukrainian UAVs were suppressed by electronic equipment and destroyed,” the Defense Ministry was quoted as saying by state news agency Ria.
State media also said drone fragments were found two kilometers from the Defense Ministry buildings. According to the vehicles, traffic was blocked on Komsomolsky Avenue and Likhachev Avenue in southern Moscow, where an office building was damaged.
The Russian Defense Ministry’s Zvezda TV channel released a short video on its Telegram channel showing a tall building with missing windows on the upper floors and damaged structure.
