Acfas Génie en affaires competition: an ÉTS team wins a jury and audience award – reseau.uquebec.ca

The final of the 2023 edition of the Acfas Geniuses in Business competition took place on March 29th at the Maison Manuvie in front of a jury and an audience. The 6 finalist teams presented their innovation project, the aim of which was to get the necessary support to drive their innovation forward.

Azimut Médical, a young company in the Centech incubator, won 2 awards during the event:

  • 2nd Jury Prize – Innovation resulting from public or undergraduate research (worth more than $13,000 in consulting services and grants)
  • Public Prize (a $3,500 prize distributed proportionally to votes)

Co-founded by Maxime Bolduc, a Masters student in Innovation Management at École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), and Pierre Lifeng Li, a graduate of Polytechnique Montréal, under the direction of ÉTS Professor Éric Wagnac, the company develops inflatable and smart products Protective clothing for the elderly. Equipped with an airbag that is activated in the event of a fall, these thin and comfortable garments aim to prevent hip fractures in the elderly but also promote their home support and autonomy.

About the competition
Organized by Acfas since 2016, the Génies en affaires competition is a unique opportunity for university students to express their sense of innovation and develop their entrepreneurial skills. The winning projects benefit from financial support and consulting services from specialists from Quebec’s entrepreneurial community to guide them to the success and commercialization of their innovation.
