Movie star Jeremy Renner, best known for his role as Hawkeye in several Marvel blockbusters, was in critical but stable condition following an accident, his rep confirmed to CBS News. Renner had been plowing snow when he sustained serious injuries, representative Sam Mast said.
“We can confirm that Jeremy is in critical but stable condition and has sustained injuries after a weather-related accident while plowing snow earlier this morning,” Renner’s representative said, confirming that the accident was in the Reno, Nevada area , has occurred.
“His family is with him and he is being well taken care of,” added Mast.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release that Renner was injured and flown to a local hospital after suffering a “traumatic” injury. He was the only person involved and the sheriff’s office is investigating.
Renner, 51, was nominated for two Oscars for his roles in The Hurt Locker and The Town.
He also appeared as Clint Barton, aka superhero Hawkeye, in several Marvel films and a recent miniseries.

He recently posted on social media about severe weather in the Lake Tahoe area, which borders California and Nevada and is a world-renowned ski resort.
On Dec. 13, Renner tweeted a photo of a snow-covered car with the caption, “Snowfalls on Lake Tahoe are no joke.”
