(CNN) — Actor Jeremy Renner is in “critical but stable condition” at a Reno-area hospital after being injured in a snowplough incident, CNN affiliate KABC reported, citing a spokesman for Renner.
According to a press release from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were responding to a “traumatic injury” in the Mt. Rose Highway area of Reno, Nevada.
Upon arrival, officers coordinated with the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for Renner’s medical transport via care flight to a local hospital, the statement said.
The sheriff’s office did not provide details of the extent of Renner’s injuries or what caused the accident.
According to the statement, Renner was the only person involved in the incident.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
CNN has reached out to Renner’s publicist for comment.
