According to US media, American actor Matthew Perry, who played the hilarious Chandler Bing in the hit sitcom “Friends”, was buried in strict privacy outside Los Angeles on Friday.

The 54-year-old actor was found unconscious in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home by his assistant on Saturday, October 28.

“The ceremony took place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles, near Warner Bros. studios,” People magazine reported, citing an anonymous source. The ceremony lasted about two hours.

The prestigious cemetery, located on the heights of Hollywood and where legendary stars such as Elizabeth Taylor and Michael Jackson rest, did not respond to requests for comment from AFP.

The actors of the series “Friends”, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer, with whom Matthew Perry had a great friendship, were all in attendance, according to the TMZ page.

“We are all completely devastated by the loss of Matthew,” they said in a joint statement on Monday, assuring that they were “more than just film colleagues.” We are a family.”

According to media reports, his mother, his father – the actor John Bennett Perry – and his stepfather were also present.

The cause of the actor’s death is not yet known.

Matthew Perry struggled with drug and alcohol addiction for years.

According to the specialist media TMZ, no drugs were found at the actor’s crime scene and there is no evidence that a crime could have been committed.

His unexpected death sparked an outpouring of tributes, from major Hollywood figures to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

“Friends” is a true cultural phenomenon and has left its mark on more than one generation of viewers.
