“Actors” actor Anthony Starr arrested in Spain for alleged assault

The “Actors” actor Anthony Starr was arrested this week in Alicante, Spain, Variety was confirmed by the city’s police department. La Información, the largest local newspaper in Alicante, reported that Starr received a 12-month suspended sentence with a fine of $ 5,464.97. The compensation must be paid to the court within 72 hours. The Alicante Police Department declined to comment on the reasons for Starr’s arrest, nor will it confirm his one-year suspended sentence.

Any sentence under two years in Spain is automatically suspended if the guilty partner does not have a criminal record, as is the case with Starr. The actor was in Spain last month to shoot Guy Ritchie’s new action film, titled Jake Gyllenhaal.

The New Zealand Herald reports that Starr attacked a young chef while drunk in a pub in Alicante. The 21-year-old chef was reportedly hit twice by Starr. A cup was also reportedly involved in the attack, although it is unclear whether the cup was smashed in the chef’s face or thrown at the chef. The chef was taken to hospital and reportedly received four stitches over his eye.

Starr’s arrest came just over a week before Amazon Prime Video was scheduled to bring “The Boys” to SXSW with a wide presence, which includes panels immersing fans and others. Starr cast members Carl Urban, Laz Alonso, Karen Fukuhara, Jesse T. Usher, Chase Crawford and Jenson Ackles are due to attend the festival along with series creator Eric Kripke. Starr was not scheduled to appear on SXSW, most likely because filming for Richie’s film continues this month.

Variety turned to Amazon for further comment, as well as representatives of Starr and The Boys Sony Television.
