Actors drown in filming with the original Maria Joaquina

Two actors died on a beach in Oaxaca, Mexico, while filming a movie starring actress Ludwika Paleta, the eternal Maria Joaquina from the original Carousel. According to the Mexico Daily Post, the team shot the feature film Wedding Night, which is still directed by Osvaldo Benavides, actor who became Dr. Mateo in The Good Doctor.

No one from production has commented so far. Filming has stopped. The local website stated the deaths happened when the actors went into the water and couldn’t get out at high tide. The victims were identified as Luis Manuel “N” and Marco Antonio “N”, aged 46 and 47, respectively.

According to the authorities’ report, a group of 10 extras went to the beach area after the shooting on Wednesday (December 12). However, three of them decided to go into the sea, not considering the strong waves and current of the sea. One was rescued alive during the night, but the other two were not.

Yesterday morning Marco António’s body was found in a rocky area, while Luís Manuel’s body has not yet been found by the Naval Search and Rescue Station of the Secretary of the Navy and the Municipal Directorate of Civil Protection of Huatulco. The search for the actor’s body continues. (folha press)
