The standoff between striking actors and studio bosses in Hollywood is even affecting the famous Halloween party: The SAG-AFTRA union this week asked its 160,000 members not to dress up as characters from works associated with the studios affected by the strike are connected.

This request to actors, stuntmen, dancers and other professionals on the small and big screen is aimed in particular at “Barbie” from Warner Bros., the superheroes of the Marvel universe from Disney and “Stranger Things” from Netflix.
Instead, the union recommended its members choose generic “ghost, zombie, spider” costumes on October 31st.
You can also take inspiration from cartoon characters who are not affected by the strike movement of actors demanding increases in their compensation and protections against artificial intelligence in the age of streaming.
“Let us use our collective strength to make it clear to our employers that we will not promote their content without a fair contract,” said the SAG-AFTRA union, whose members have been walking off film sets since July.
The two camps announced last week that they were suspending their negotiations, despite a salary agreement last month between the studios and writers’ representatives that ended the company’s strike that began in May.
But SAG-AFTRA’s salary demands go beyond those of her screenwriting colleagues.
In particular, they are demanding a larger salary increase and the payment of a real share of the profits if the series is successful instead of a simple bonus.
