Actress announces split after husband spotted kissing another man

Toni Collette, 50, announced their split this morning after her husband David Galafassi was spotted kissing and cuddling with chiropractor Shannon Egan in Manly Beach, Australia yesterday.

This afternoon, David was contacted by the Chron and declined to comment on the split. “I don’t want to talk about it,” he said.

The announcement of the separation was made by a statement on the actress’ Instagram account. “After a considerable period of separation, it is with grace and gratitude that we announce our divorce. We are united in our decision and have parted ways with ongoing respect and care for one another. Our children are of the utmost importance to us and we will continue to thrive as a family, albeit in different ways. We are grateful for the space and love you are granting us as we move forward and move peacefully through this transition. Thank you Toni Collette and David Galafassi,” the statement said.

Five days ago, the actress reactivated her Instagram account. At the time, she shared a photo of herself sipping from a glass that read, “Happy Birthday,” and wrote in the caption, “I’m back. Hello World. I love you.”

Hours before the divorce announcement, she had already made an enigmatic post on the social network. “No matter what your current circumstances are, if you can think of something better for yourself, you can do it.”

According to the British newspaper, Galafassi moved into one of the nowexcouple’s homes, which is in Sydney. The property is valued at approximately US$3 million, which equates to R$15.7 million based on current listings.

Galafassi was spotted with the chiropractor in front of other beachgoers after the couple arrived on the beach around 7:30am. They spent 15 minutes in the water and then bought coffee.

The now excouple have two children, Sage, 14, and Arlo, 11, and have split between Australia and the US in recent years. The two had been together since 2002, when they met on the release of the Galafassi band’s debut album.
