Monique Mon spoke exclusively to the column and revealed details of the “invasion”: “I'm not a fan, I didn't even know it was his event”
Have you ever imagined walking into a party crasher and finding out that the owner is one of the greatest football players of all time? Well, that's what happened to Monique Mon at the turn of the year. Cristiano Ronaldo decided to celebrate New Year's Eve and his mother's birthday, including a show by Luan Santana, of whom Maria Dolores Aveiro is a fan, and that's how it all happened.
The actress and voice actress was in a friend's room at a luxury hotel in Portugal where they were celebrating the beginning of 2024 when she spotted a party upstairs and decided to go there to watch the party, even without being invited. What she didn't expect was that she would crash the New Year's Eve party of none other than Cristiano Ronaldo.
In an exclusive chat with the column, Monique Mon explained how it all happened: “A friend of mine had a foot injury and went back to her room, the other one's husband did too and she couldn't leave. Everyone was discouraged. This party was in her room and I never thought it would be Cristiano Ronaldo's,” he began.
Then the actress reported that she was discouraged and decided to watch her neighbor's celebration: “It was very dark here. So I went to take the party upstairs, but I went over the fire escape because the elevators were blocked for the party. I went upstairs and ended up at Cristiano Ronaldo's party, with Luan Santana and other famous people. I didn’t find out who the owner of the party was until hours after my visit,” he explained.
Unfazed by the celebrities in attendance, Monique explained that she really enjoyed it and prayed not to get caught: “I didn't care about the famous guests, I didn't ask to take a photo. I was enjoying the party and praying that I wouldn't get caught by a security guard because I had no bracelet, I had no ID, I had nothing,” she recalled.
Monique said she was aware that she was in a privileged place: “If there was a Cristiano Ronaldo fan in the condition that I was in, he would be a huge success.” He would have access to Cristiano Ronaldo , take photos and flatter him. I didn't give a shit, I wanted to have fun, I wanted music. “I have nothing planned,” he assured.
She shared how she felt before and how she felt after finding out about the owner of the event: “I felt like an asshole in the trash. I was happier when I didn't know it was the guy's party. When I found out the party belonged to the man, I was scared. When a security guard came by, he pooped all over me. I thought, 'Wow, then I'm going to be deported, then they're going to ask for my ID,'” she explained.
Monique then revealed how unnoticed she went: “I delivered my lines in silence. I didn’t flatter anyone, I danced, I drank, I ate.”
And finally she explained that she did not attend the event as a “crazy” fan of the Portuguese player: “I respect his work, but I am not a crazy, disoriented fan.” Nothing to see. I'm not a fan of anyone, I don't flatter any artist. The party was great, I was treated very well. I took advantage of the opportunity. It came up, I grabbed it. And when the time comes, I'll go back. “I hope there are now invitations for me to come in the front door,” he joked.
