The actress Ilka Soares died this Saturday at the age of 89 at the age of 18 in Rio de Janeiro. She suffered with me lung cancer and was in the hospital for about 10 days. The first step into the artistic world was in 1947 when, while still a teenager, he entered a miss contest sponsored by the newspaper O Globo, representing the federal district (when the capital of Brazil was Rio itself). At that time she could not even participate because she was underage, and later the actress herself announced that she was “given” a few more years so that she could walk. During this competition he met the director Vitório Cardinalli. He invited her to audition for the role of Iracema in the film, which was to be made in 1948 and released the following year.
At the age of 16, she starred alongside Mario Brasini (19211997) and claims to have starred in the first act in Brazilian cinema with dark makeup skin and a wig with bangs and dark hair.
