Actress Letícia Sabatella apologized to the Jewish community for posting false information on a social network that attributed the deaths of Israeli civilians in the Hamas attack to the Jewish state’s own army.
“I made a serious mistake by citing data related to the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack that does not correspond to reality. I was deceived by false information, by fake news and I accept the error of having shared and reproduced it,” she posted this Wednesday (8) on his Instagram account.
Last Sunday (5) Sabatella published that “most of the Israeli civilians killed in the Hamas terrorist attack on 10/7/23 were shot by Israeli soldiers.” She cited the proPalestinian website Electronicintifada.net as a source.
The post resulted in a notification from Conib (Confederação Israelita do Brasil) to Meta, owner of Instagram.
“I always call for peace, which is why my demonstrations express my dismay at civilians especially women and children who are victims of war,” she wrote in her withdrawal request.
