Actress Neusa Maria Faro dies at the age of 78 in São Paulo

Actress Neusa Maria Faro died on Friday (7) at the age of 78 in the city of São Paulo. According to people who lived close to the artist, Neusa was hospitalized with a thrombosis and suffered from complications caused by other health problems.

The death information was confirmed by playwright Pedro Leão, a friend of the actress. “Unfortunately we lost our dear Neusa Maria Faro. Great actress. Interesting. Of the best quality. theater woman. Dear friend. A kiss Neusa,” Pedro wrote on a social network

The actress has played several roles throughout her career, but stood out with ‘Divina’ from the TV Globo soap opera ‘Alma Gêmea’. Back then, the character sported the classic slogan “Oswaldo, don’t talk to mom like that.”

The funeral service for the actress will take place this Saturday morning (8) in Valinhos, in São Paulo.


Career

Although Neusa has not been on television since 2016 when she was filming Êta Mundo Bom, she starred in the 2022 play Gaslight. The year before, in 2022, she was part of the cast of the film Nas Mãos de Quem Me Leva.

In addition to her work as an actress, Neusa was also an outstanding voice actress, especially in the 80s. She was part of the cast of the classic Jaspion with the character Apple; and the voice of Kilmaza in the Zillion anime. At the age of nineteen she switched from music to studying at the School of Dramatic Art at the University of São Paulo (USP).

He then devoted his career entirely to theater and began his television career in 1974 with TV Cultura, where he was part of Teleteatro and Telecurso.

Neusa’s photographer and friend Priscila Prade reported on social media that the actress was taken to the hospital after a play and was hospitalized with a thrombosis. “Difficult week! My beloved @neusamariafaro just left! She left the stage straight to the hospital, and against her will! So much love for the theatre, so much energy, so much tenderness in the soul,” he wrote.

In the photographer’s release, several actors paid their respects and mourned Neusa’s death. Suzy Rêgo, Reynaldo Gianecchini, Barbara Paz and Marisa Orth were some of those who left their messages for the actress.

Tássia Camargo, also a friend of Neusa, mourned the loss of the actress and other artist friends who also recently passed away.

Paulo Betti also used the nets to say goodbye to Neusa. The actor reminisced about part of his career and how he first saw it.
