“In the last soap opera I did I kissed two heartthrobs, but I had some crossroads. There was an actor who said he wouldn’t kiss me,” she said in an interview with the Israel Cassol Show.
“Acting is a lot of work, we study a lot, learn the craft of acting, and it’s sad to go on set and hear that. And usually my roles are normative Cis,” lamented the artist, who still advises trans women who want to reach the universe artistically: “Have determination, keep seeking knowledge, explore.”
In addition, Maia criticizes artists such as Vitão and Harry Styles for using women’s clothing. “Art has become a sales and money machine. It’s always had a very high level of appropriation by the LGBTQIA+ community,” he says.
However, the artist celebrates that genderless fashion is gaining more and more space in the fashion universe. “Fashion has always been genderless for me, I think it’s really cool that this topic is becoming more and more relevant to the audience,” he finally explains.
