The spec sheet of this newcomer therefore bears certain similarities to the Cadillac Lyriq, with which it shares the chassis and Ultium electric platform to reduce development costs. Both models share the same wheelbase, with the ZDX being 23mm longer than its American cousin.

On the mechanical side, the Acura protégé has two versions with two engines. The Type S version will have 500 hp, while the performance details for the less sporty A-Spec version have not yet been announced. Acura states that the ZDX Type S can also travel 500km when powered by a 102kWh battery it shares with the other variant. A maximum charging capacity of 190 kW will be possible.

Additionally, the Japanese brand states that the ZDX A-Spec will sell “over $80,000,” while the more dynamic Type S will require a payout of “over $90,000.”

Acura states that the first examples of this ZDX will arrive at Canadian dealerships next spring.
