The match between Adam Copeland and Christian Cage for the TNT Title takes place today at AEW Dynamite at the Bell Center in Montreal, Quebec.
A match of great importance due to their rivalry in AEW and the fact that the TNT title is on the line, but that’s not all. This is also the first singles match between the two in 13 years. Many on social media wondered why this match wasn’t on the PPV.
Now, Adam Copeland spoke out on the matter in an interview for Sports Illustrated and explained that it was important for him to play this game in Montreal:
“For me, the location is the most important element.” We can do it in Montreal. We have no choice but to have him here. My family visits him, cousins and relatives who know Jay [Christian Cage] For years.
There is something special about doing this in Canada. I’m really, really excited to do this. I truly believe there is no other story like ours. Two friends from Orangeville, Ontario who got to where they are by helping each other. I hope it will be an energetic audience. “This is what I dreamed of: competing against this guy in Montreal for a championship.”
There’s a big night ahead for AEW Dynamite and it’s now clear that Christian and Copeland wanted to have this match in Montreal in front of their families. You can watch the full preview of Dynamite on December 6th at this link.
