Adam Sandler has set a career record with his brand new Netflix film.

The actor, who has signed a $350million (£199million) deal with the streaming service, is appearing in You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, a comedy in which he stars alongside his wife and his two daughters plays the leading role.

Fallen sports drama Hustle became his top-reviewed film, according to collection site Rotten Tomatoes.

This marks a turning point of sorts for Sandler, whose previous films for the streaming service, including The Ridiculous 6, Sandy Wexler, and Murder Mystery, have all been panned by critics.

However, You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah earned Sandler some of the best reviews of his career.

The film has a 95 percent critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes. For comparison: Hustle has 93 percent.

It was followed by The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) with 92 percent, Uncut Gems with 91 percent and Paul Thomas Anderson’s film Punch-Drunk Love (77 percent).

However, the audience disagrees. While Hustle remains his fan favorite movie, You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah currently sits at 67 percent.

The film is about two best friends whose bat mitzvah plans are influenced by a popular boy whose attention they are fighting for.
