Adele: “I was on the verge of alcoholism for most of my twenties”

Singer Adele announced she had quit drinking during a concert in Las Vegas. After speaking to guests in the VIP seats about their “glass of whiskey” during his show last Saturday, the pop star spoke briefly about his sobriety. “You know, I stopped drinking a long time ago…” she told the guests, “it seems like forever. Maybe three and a half months ago?” Adele didn’t seem particularly pleased with her new condition. “It is boring. “Oh my god, it’s boring,” he commented. I mean, I was literally on the verge of alcoholism for most of my twenties. I miss it so much, I’ve given up caffeine so enjoy your whiskey, I’m very very jealous.

This isn’t the first time the “I Drink Wine” singer has spoken out about alcoholism and sobriety. During her 2021 television show One Night Only, Adele told Oprah Winfrey that she had given up alcohol and liquor. “I stopped drinking,” he claimed during the show. Not drinking is a great way to really get to know yourself. Just drink water and stay sober.

In 2021 he revealed to Vogue: “I’ve always had a very close relationship with alcohol.” I’ve always been very fascinated by alcohol. Alcohol kept my father away from me. That’s why I always wanted to know what was so beautiful. Earlier this year, the singer revealed to an audience in Las Vegas that she once drank “four bottles of wine” before 11am during the Covid-19 lockdown. Adele is currently in the final stages of her “Weekends with Adele” Las Vegas residency, which began on November 18, 2022. Their last performance will take place on November 4th.
