It’s the spookiest time of the year when celebrities wear frighteningly creative Halloween costumes.
Did a star dare to dress up as Barbie despite the SAG-AFTRA ban? And who topped Diddy’s Joker, Kim Kardashian’s Mystique and Heidi Klum’s human-sized earthworm last year?
Stars always think outside the box when it comes to the holidays, but some plans may have been thwarted this year.
Earlier this month, SAG-AFTRA announced that striking actors, now well over 100 days old, would be banned from wearing costumes inspired by major studio content. The guild asked strikers to wear common Halloween costumes, such as witches, fairies or zombies.
The guidelines didn’t make it clear whether people could dress up as characters from content adapted by movie studios like Mattel’s Barbie or Nintento’s Mario, but it appears that actors have largely opted to err on the side of caution rather than leniency.
Here are some of the Halloween costumes celebrities have come up with this season.
