Adele reportedly in talks at the Zappos Theater; Colosseum still open

Adeles Her unused stint leads to wider coverage that she is considering a show outside of the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

TMZ posted that the hiatus superstar is “close to closing a deal” at the Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort. Citing unnamed sources with knowledge of the singer’s plans, the celebrity news pub says Adele would fill dates from this summer through the end of the year. This allows her to fulfill her plans to have a baby in 2023 with her super agent boyfriend Rich Paul.

Hosting an Adele show at the Zappos Theater in the summer would be a daunting challenge, to say the least. The theater’s schedule is packed all summer, with just a few open dates between the Rise Against show on July 15 and John Legend’s return on August 5.

“(Adele) and her team are in serious discussions with the folks at Planet Hollywood and will be doing the show at the Zappos Theater barring any unforeseen setbacks,” the report said. Unforeseen setbacks naturally led us to come here as Adele canceled her stay in January due to operational setbacks related to COVID.

Representatives from Caesars Entertainment, which owns the Zappos Theater and Colosseum, and promoter Live Nation have not responded to requests for comment.

TMZ notes that Adele would receive a higher percentage of ticket revenue at Zappos because it has a higher seating capacity of 7,000. The maximum capacity of the room is actually 6,800 when the balcony is open. The room is about 4,600 for most residency shows and only opens occasionally to meet demand.

As it is, Adele’s digital signage will still be displayed inside Caesars, alternating at the Colosseum entrance and also outside on the Strip-facing marquee. The show is still listed with no performance dates on the Caesars Palace official website. The Colosseum schedule is yet to be announced, from Morrissey’s Viva Moz Vegas residency ending July 9 to the September 23 opening of Rod Stewart: The Hits.

Adele has reportedly shaken up her creative team and hired an industry veteran Kim Gavin (who has worked extensively with the British pop band take that and is also on the coming Rolling Stones’ 60th Anniversary Tour) to replace the highly regarded one It Devlin as a set designer a way to get her stalled show Weekends With Adele going again.
