The most anticipated magnum opus starring Prabhas is Adipurush. The trailer for the film saw the light of day today. Surprisingly, this is insulted from all corners.
Needless to say, audiences who have become accustomed to the conventional way of watching Ramayana might find it boring. But like the young audience it makes all the difference.
If this is how young New Age audiences were to be introduced to Ramayana, that’s another debate.
The teaser begins with Lord Rama meditating underwater as the demons approach him.
He aims his arrows at her while Ravan is presented with the horizontal lines on his forehead indicating his devotion to Lord Shiva.
We also see him showing his 10 heads to a woman sitting at his feet. He rides a fictional creature. Then we see the shot of Lord Rama with his army going towards Ram Setu
The film appears to be made with excessive VFX inspired by Thor and other digital fantasies. This type of manufacturing can give the Ramayana an unrealistic and incredible image as a whole.
Adipurush is Om Raut’s follow-up project to his 2020 blockbuster film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.
Adipurush is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar from T-Series, Raut, Prasad Sutar and Rajesh Nair from Retrophiles. The film is slated to hit theaters on January 12, 2023 in IMAX and 3D.
Prabhas previously appeared in SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali films Saaho and Radhe Shyam. His upcoming films also include Salaar and a film starring Deepika Padukone.
Saif last worked with Om Raut in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. His latest release is Vikram Vedha with Hrithik Roshan. Kriti Sanon also has Bhediya alongside Adipurush.
