Here’s a little background – the teaser of Adipurush released last year and the film’s VFX were widely criticized. Additionally, NY VFXwala, a studio founded by Ajay Devgn, had released a statement distancing itself from Adipurush. Cut to May 2023, the revised VFX in the film’s trailer managed to wow the internet. Twitter noted the drastic change in trailer quality compared to the CGI-heavy teaser released last year. Saif Ali Khan’s dialogue performance as antagonist Lankesh also turned out to be a fan favorite. Directed by Om Raut, Adipurush is based on the Ramayana and stars Prabhas as Raghav, Kriti Sanon as Janaki, Sunny Singh as Shesh and Devdatta Nage as Hanuman.

After the CGI-heavy teaser was heavily criticized last year, NY VFXwala, a studio founded by Ajay Devgn, released a statement distancing itself from the film. “Leading VFX studio, NY VFXwala, has clarified that they have not been/are working on Adipurush’s CG/FX. An official note on her behalf clarified, ‘We are taking this on record because we have been asked by some media people,'” read the statement tweeted by Taran Adarsh.

Saif Ali Khan’s brief appearance also caught the attention of the internet, and for all good reasons. “Saif Ali Khan is the best part of Adipurush Trailer. To me, his voice and BGM score are top notch. I remember enjoying Saif Ali Khan’s performance in Tanhaji,” one fan wrote.

The film will premiere on June 13th at the Tribeca Film Festival. The magnum opus is slated to hit theaters on June 16 this year in IMAX and 3D. The film, directed by Om Raut, was produced by Retrophiles’ Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar and Rajesh Nair.
