The ADISQ Gala was full of emotions for Les Cowboys Fringants, who received the Félix for Group of the Year on Sunday evening. Singer Karl Tremblay, who was conspicuous by his absence, thanked him in a video posted to Instagram on Monday afternoon.
From the opening of the gala, Louis-José Houde paid tribute to Karl Tremblay, who is currently battling cancer, by dedicating the evening to him: “I want this celebration to reflect the image of a Cowboys show: dignified, strong, proud and festive .”
Faced with this wave of love, Karl Tremblay wanted to express his gratitude:

I just wanted to take a quick minute to say a big thank you to Louis-José, the entire ADISQ team and my colleagues, my amazing colleagues JF, Jérôme and my lover, my wife Marie-Annick Lépine . for good words. I wish it was there, but I saw it from the comfort of my own home. It was a really nice evening. So thank you to the entire population of Quebec for watching us, 20 years apart, or I know “We didn’t really make it Group of the Year 2023. Thank you very much (…) and we look forward to seeing you again soon, friends.”

Les Cowboys Fringants also won in the “Album of the Year – Popular Achievement” category for the albums “In Concert with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra” (conducted by conductor Simon Leclerc) and “America is Crying” (original soundtrack of the film). nominated twice instead of once. .
This is far from the first time that the members of the Cowboys Fringants have left the ADISQ Gala with a statuette, alongside awards for Song of the Year, Rock Album of the Year and Group or Duo of the Year.
An expected new album
In mid-October, Jean-François Pauzé announced that a new Cowboys Fringants album would be released before the end of 2023. The popular group also shared photos of Karl Tremblay shooting in his living room.
After a summer marked by several canceled shows, the group announced the remainder of the tour would be postponed until 2023 so that Karl Tremblay could focus on his health.
In July 2022, the Cowboys Fringants singer announced that he was suffering from prostate cancer.
