GAZA, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) — At least 40 Palestinians were killed and many more injured in Israeli airstrikes on homes in the central Gaza Strip on Saturday, according to state broadcaster Palestine TV.
Palestinian medical sources told Xinhua that Israeli warplanes launched a series of violent attacks on several houses in the Nuseirat, Al-Zawaida and Deir el-Balah areas of the central Gaza Strip, killing dozens of people and injuring many others.
The sources added that civil defense teams were able to recover 40 bodies while dozens still lay under the rubble, noting that the dead and injured were taken to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the city of Deir el-Balah. End
