Last Saturday, November 4th, Fluminense defeated Boca Juniors 2-1 and were crowned champions of the Copa Libertadores for the first time in their history. The “Flu” had taken the lead on the scoreboard with a goal from Germán Cano in the first half, but then showed up Luis Advíncula with a great left-footed goal from distance to equalize.
However, when it looked like the decision would go to penalties, John Kennedy scored in the first extra period to give the Tricolor victory. After the final whistle, Advíncula was left completely desolate in the middle of the maracana grass.
In the images shared on social media, the Peru international is seen crying while being hugged by a Xeneize employee who tries to calm him down. After a few seconds they both start running through the field.
Luis Advíncula was the goalscorer for Boca Juniors in the Libertadores
The Peruvian was Xeneize’s top scorer in the 2023 Copa Libertadores after scoring four goals. All of these goals were scored with the left foot and from distance.
