AEW Dynamite results for April 19, 2023

AEW Dynamite Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

The commentators are Taz, Tony Schiavone and Excalibur.

– Tonight is AEW Dynamite, the show starts with the commentators greeting us. Jungle Boy Jack Perry then enters the ring. Perry was about to start talking, but Sammy Guevara’s music starts and he arrives. Guevara was about to start talking but Darby Allin’s music started and he came out to the ring. Allin says he has known and loved Guevara the longest of all the mainstays. But Guevara is the least qualified to have a title shot. People see him as a henchman and not a champion. He and Sting are equals, it’s not the Sting Appreciation Society. Guevara became the TNT champion alone and if he wants to be world champion he has to do it alone and Chris Jericho seems to be holding him back.

Allin says Perry is the one who worked the least hard to be here. Perry was chosen because he is from his California clan. Perry was advertised as a big new addition while living in his car not knowing if he would fit in. He was jealous until he saw that nothing about Perry intimidated him. Perry says he looks at the color on Allin’s face and he sees the kids in the crowd who are the same color. He can’t help but wonder what would happen if these kids found out who Allin really is. Allin is antisocial, always withdrawn. It’s not even Allin’s first choice, Allin is here because he couldn’t be a skateboarder. Perry says he has the greatest respect for Guevara of all. Because at Guevara you get exactly what you see, Guevara always jeopardizes his career and his future in his matches, but Guevara sucks. Guevara says Perry hates MJF so much, but actually Perry is like MJF. Allin and Perry were chosen by AEW. At the first PPV he was in the pre-show and he watched the rest of the event in the stands. He and Allin were absent from the last PPV but Perry and MJF were there. Despite their differences, they will do anything to dig their hole. He has Allin to thank for giving him hope. Allin lost all of his matches and PPVs, but Allin was the first to win a mainstay title.

Guevara says he saw Allin win the TNT title and he thought he could do even better, so he won it three times. Now it’s time for Allin to stay away to watch him become world champion. Perry says both are selfish. He’s the next world champion but he will do it for all the fans who have supported him from the start. MJF’s music starts and he comes on stage. MJF says the crowd can boo him all they want since even Pittsburgh believes Britt Baker has talent. MJF says the three are tied in the rankings so he spoke to his good friend Tony Khan. TK had an idea and he agreed. We’re going to have a Pillar tournament and the winner can go up against them at Double or Nothing for the title. In the first round someone has a direct pass. MJF rummages through a hat… and it’s Darby Allin who will have a free pass. MJF says first round we’ll have Sammy Guevara vs Jack Perry in tonight’s main event for the first time! MJF asks to play his music because he doesn’t want to see those idiots anymore.

– Back after the break, the wrestlers arrive and the match begins on the ramp as Baker enters.

Tag Team Match

At the end of the fight, Baker stomps and covers Soho, but she fights back. Baker continues with her Lock Jaw against Soho and she hits.

– Behind the scenes, Renee Paquette seeks Wardlow’s comments on QT Marshall’s interventions. Wardlow says he had someone with him who advised him to compete on the battlefield. So he contacted another rider to help him. Arn Anderson arrives and talks about the rivalry. Anderson advises everyone to be ready as they will be playing chess.

The elite comes in the ring. Kenny Omega says the past few weeks have been the toughest of his life. BCC are the most respected wrestlers but that was before he sent his friends to the hospital. The same image keeps coming back to him, the screwdriver in the corner. What he wants to change that night is take the screwdriver and stick it in Jon Moxley’s head. That’s all he has to say. You are here to extend an invitation to the Blackpool Combat Club. He wants to see her in the ring and clear that story up. Bryan Danielson is on the TitanTron. Danielson says The Elite has airtime and not much to say. Nobody wants to pay to see immature people. The rest of the BCC arrives on the other side to attack the Elite! The confrontation breaks out between the two clans. The BCC takes control. Danielson walks in and says that’s what he thought, a bunch of immature people. Don Callis comes with a chair. Danielson asks him what he’s doing. Callis eventually decides to flee. Danielson says Omega has potential but he has to go for good. Danielson prepares his screwdriver, but Don Callis brings Konosuke Takeshita back with him. Takeshita clears the ring with Omega’s help. Callis celebrates in the ring with Takeshita and The Elite.

– Back, the wrestlers are arriving.

TNT Championship – Single Match

Wardlow with Arn Anderson vs. Powerhouse Hobbs (c) with QT Marshall Clan

At the end of the fight, QT Marshall enters the ring, but Arn Anderson also enters the ring and threatens him with his imaginary gun. Marshall leaves the ring, Penta El Zero comes in and superkicks him. Marshall returns to the ring and Anderson hits him with a DDT. Wardlow powerbombs Hobbs, a second powerbomb and a third for the three count.

Winner: Wardlow – New Champion

– After the fight, Wardlow celebrates his victory with Arn Anderson, but Christian Cage’s music continues. Christian arrives at the scene with Luchasaurus to confront the champion.

– Behind the scenes, Renee Paquette reaches out to Sammy Guevara for his comments ahead of the main event, but MJF shows up. Guevara asks him what he wants. MJF says the two started off badly since the Inner Circle, he likes Guevara. Guevara asks him what he wants. MJF says he heard the words of Guevara, who can no longer see the pillars above, and he can’t. In order to guarantee him a spot for Double or Nothing, Guevara only has to fold. Guevara says he will beat Jungle Boy, then Allin, then MJF at AEW DON. MJF says the odds of beating all of these guys are slim. So he offers her a seat in the main event and a check for the amount of her choice. Guevara completes the check and says this is his prize. MJF agrees, the two hug.

single game

Komander vs. Jay White with Juice Robinson

At the end of the fight, White avoids a jump from Komander’s corner and takes it as a finisher, but Komander pushes him away. Komander applies an armlock to him, but White backs him into a suplex. White continues with his blade runner and counts to three.

Winner: Jay White

– After the fight, we see Shawn Spears in the crowd giving Jay White a 5. Juice Robinson dislikes the note and attacks Spears at ringside. White and Robinson bring Spears to the ring to beat him up, but Ricky Starks comes and he spears Robinson and White flees.

– Renee Paquette is backstage at FTR to get her reaction to Mark Briscoe, who was attacked earlier. FTR finds Mark Briscoe at the doctor’s office and receives help from the Jeff Jarrett clan. Mark Briscoe says he’s ready to fight but the doctor refuses. Mark urges Jay Lethal to team up with FTR to get revenge. Lethal accepts on behalf of his friend.

– Chris Jericho enters the ring. Return, Adam Cole enters the ring face to face. Jericho says it looks like Pittsburgh will like Adam Cole tonight. Cole says he studied Chris Jericho for a long time. He was inspired by Jericho, also his catchphrase is inspired by Jericho. He was in high school and he was reading the first book about Jericho and he decided one day that he wanted to be like Jericho. This is our first time in the ring with him and Jericho, it’s very cool. So he has a lot of respect for Jericho. Jericho offers Cole his hand and the two shake hands.

Jericho is happy about these nice words. He used to watch Cole’s games and would like to say that he has absolutely no respect for Adam Cole. He even thinks Cole is an arrogant son of a bitch. The audacity to end his championship celebration last week with a handshake is unacceptable. It’s unacceptable for a talent like Jericho and Cole is lucky not to be knocked out now. Cole says everyone here thinks Jericho is an idiot. Jericho is hypocritical and his JAS minis see him as a god. But when Jericho looked in a mirror to find out who the real Jericho is? The real Jericho is an egoist using the JAS to win. For him, the real Jericho is an insecure idiot. Cole says Jericho wanted to confront him and he’s here, he doesn’t want to play anymore. Jericho has his attention, so what’s next? First off, Jericho says he’s not an idiot. And second, it’s true that Cole doesn’t want to meet or get to know his idol. If Cole is smart, he turns and leaves the ring that Jericho built. Cole asks what he’s going to do.

Jericho is pushing him! Cole pushes him back into the corner and kicks him. Daniel Garcia arrives to help Jericho. Jericho and Garcia hit Cole on the corner. Britt Baker comes and slaps Jericho! Saraya, Toni Storm and Ruby Soho come in from the other side to attack Britt Baker! Garcia ties Cole to a rope. Jericho takes a kendo stick and Cole tells him to hit him. Jericho ends up giving Saraya the gun and Saraya attacks Baker with the kendo stick! JAS and Saraya’s clan celebrate in the ring as the crowd calls them “shit”.

– In a video, the Hardy Boyz challenge Ethan Page’s clan for Friday’s Rampage.

Trios Match

If JAS wins, The Acclaimed must join JAS.
