AEW Dynamite results for February 28, 2024

AEW Dynamite Huntsville, Alabama

The commentators are Taz, Tony Schiavone and Excalibur.

– Tonight is AEW Dynamite. The show begins with the commentators greeting us and Adam Hangman Page arriving with the aid of a crutch. Adam Page says when AEW started it was just a new option for his friends, but for him it was a goal. A goal to deliver the goods and he believes he has achieved it. Especially winning the AEW World Title in 2021. It was the biggest achievement of his career. So it hurts him to end with this 3-way match story today.

Page says he meant it when he said a 3-way match was the wrong option for Revolution. He won't apologize to Samoa Joe or Strickland, he has to tell the truth. He will not be able to fight at AEW Revolution this Sunday. Swerve Strickland's music starts and he comes. Strickland says they've been at war for six months. The two tried to kill each other, he may have crossed the line, but he never wanted that to happen. He has respect for Page…but he will continue to follow his destiny and become AEW World Champion at Revolution. Samoa Joe's music begins and he takes the stage.

Joe says we have two big enemies who want to cuddle now. Many lies have been told, so now is the time for the truth. He's been watching them fight for several weeks, but they've forgotten who the real guy is. He's Samoa Joe, he's the AEW World Champion and he's going to kick their ass. Strickland says he went from being unemployed to main eventing at cruiserweight to chasing the world championship. He even went so far as to enter a house that wasn't his to threaten a child. He left a young student bleeding. He'll beat Joe and Joe can go back to commentating in the poncho. He will make history and become champion on Sunday. Whose house is this?! Adam Page hits Strickland in the back with his crutch!

Page isn't hurt at all. Page hits Strickland again with his crutch and screams that Strickland will never be champion, he will be the champion! Page returns backstage without any problems.

– A video from today shows the Young Bucks driving into the parking lot. Renee Paquette stops them to get details about her meeting with Ric Flair. Nicholas says the meeting went well and he won't say anything more. Matthews asks if Paquette has seen Sting. They can't wait to see Sting to pay tribute to him on his final Dynamite and do his farewell interview (the Bucks get out their baseball bats). The Bucks go looking for Sting.

– Back after the break, the wrestlers arrive.

Trios match

Blackpool Combat Club (Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli) vs FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) and Eddie Kingston

At the end of the match, the wrestlers exchange finishers one after the other. Danielson avoids Kingston's back fist and suplexes him. Danielson follows with his running knee and starts kicking Kingston in the head. Danielson follows up with a triangle sleeper and the referee stops the match because Kingston is unresponsive.

Winner: Blackpool Combat Club via submission

– Backstage, Renee Paquette asks Chris Jericho for his comments on his history with the Atlantis family. Jericho says he was confronted with legends like Atlantis 30 years ago in Mexico. Atlantis was a mentor and friend to him. So with the CMLL and AEW partnership, he immediately requested a match to return the favor to Atlantis Jr.

– Back, Tony Schiavone is in the ring and introduces new AEW wrestler: Will Ospreay. Schiavone says it's official, Ospreay is All Elite. Ospreay says he doesn't want to wait too long, but thanks for the welcome. In November he said he had to fulfill his obligations to NJPW and his obligations were now over. He's here for a full-time job. It's not his first time here, at his first PPV he beat Orange Cassidy. He was in Canada and beat Kenny Omega in front of his fans. And that's not all: he defeated the first AEW world champion Chris Jericho at Wembley Stadium. The territory is different, but he knows wrestling and the Don Callis Family well. Don Callis' clan enters the ring to boos.

Callis says he loves nothing more than a family reunion. When he thinks of talent, he thinks of Hobbs, Fletcher, Takeshita and Ospreay. He was right there when Ospreay defeated Omega. How can you overcome this? He put him in the ring against Jericho. How can you overcome this now? They will play the game of the year, the game of a decade at Revolution. This requires the two best wrestlers in the world: Takeshita and Ospreay. It doesn't matter who wins at the end of the game, the real winner will be the Callis family. Callis asks them to shake hands, which they do. The two men don't want to let go of each other anymore, Callis calms everyone down.

– Backstage, Renee Paquette is with Eddie Kingston to get his reaction to Bryan Danielson's disrespect, but the Young Bucks arrive as they continue to search for Sting. Nicholas says he also has a problem with Kingston, next time Kingston insults him there will be a fine. Matthews says Kingston is a champion, he should take some care of his outfit. The Bucks head further afield in search of Sting.

Julia takes the opportunity to hit Statlander with her TBS title. Blue continues his Code Blue on Statlander and counts to three.

Winner: Skye Blue

– Behind the scenes, the Young Bucks are still looking for Sting. They found the door to Sting's dressing room. You find yourself in a room with lots of baseball bats hanging.

– Back, the wrestlers are coming.

Single game

Lionheart Chris Jericho against Atlantis Jr. accompanied by Atlantis Sr

At the end of the fight, Jericho performs a rana from the corner on Atlantis. Jericho goes for a Judas effect, but Atlantis avoids it. Atlantis puts him on his shoulders for a back breaker, but Jericho knocks him to the floor and does a Walls of Jericho. Atlantis fights back, but Jericho brings him back to the middle of the ring and Atlantis Sr. throws the towel into the ring in surrender.

Winner: Chris Jericho by submission

– After the fight, Jericho helps Atlantis get back up. The three pose together in the ring.

– The commentators present the AEW Revolution 2024 card, which will take place this Saturday.

– The Young Bucks arrive in the ring. Nicholas and Matthew approach a Sting fan at ringside, but the fan attacks the Bucks and it turns out it's Darby Allin in a Sting mask! The Bucks quickly take control of Darby as it's two on one. They release Darby as EVP and hit him with their baseball bat. The Bucks wave someone backstage and Ric Flair's music starts! Ric Flair arrives and prepares to hit Darby with the stick, but Flair puts his finger in Nicholas' eyes ! Flair punches Matthew, but Nicholas low blows him to confront him.
